We bring structure to unstructured problems
One of the great strengths of Open Options is a structured process that brings an analytical approach to highly unstructured problems. Having participants build a model forces everyone in the room to focus on what is really important, weeds out vague opinions that lack justification and avoids circular discussions where the same points are rehashed over and over.
Our process gathers diverse opinions and never lets the loudest voice in the room dominate. We focus on building consensus on the inputs to strategy:
- Who are the key players?
- What can they do?
- What do they want?
This input process establishes a common understanding of the strategic issue among all participants. Having captured this common understanding in a clear and structured format, Open Options’ tools can demonstrate the logical consequences of those inputs and uncover opportunities for our clients to use their understanding of the actions and reactions of other players to our clients’ advantage.
